A video has emerged showing the moment gunmen started firing into a New Jersey sports bar as a stand-up comedy show was taking place on Friday night. Comedian, Toni Byrd, shared the video of the moment her stand-up set was cut short by gunfire.

At around 11:45pm on Friday night, shots rang out at Sports In The City Lounge in Bloomfield, New Jersey, USA, causing people to scream and flee in terror.

According to CBS, one person was the target of the attack in which six people were hurt. Five people were shot but no-one suffered life-threatening injuries.

"All praises due to God. I was headlining comedy show tonight in Bloomfield NJ. And bullets started flying..I mean they shot the spot up," said Byrd on a Facebook post of the video. "I'm so grateful because a few bullets pass by me. I was able to get on the floor and make it in the back room."

Byrd also mentioned a friend, Nicole, who she said was quick to help those wounded. "We are so grateful because it could have turn out a different way", said Byrd. CBS reported that local police were still trying to catch the suspects.

Local resident told the news channel that there had never been any issues at the club before: "I've been in there a couple of times before to watch something, and no problems," said one.
