Nathan Sykes has announced his first single as a solo artist.

The former Wanted singer debuted Kiss Me Quick on stage at Glasgow's ABC2 to kick-off his string of intimate UK shows. The soulful song is taken from his upcoming album, which will feature collaborations with Babyface, Diane Warren and Harmony Samuels.

Ahead of the big reveal the 21-year-old pop star shared a teaser of the track with his 1.6 million Twitter followers.

In March, Sykes unveiled a music video for More Than You'll Ever Know, which will also feature on the record. He also teased a potential collaboration with Grammy award winning star Sam Smith.

"We've spoken about going into the studio before and I think it's quite likely going to happen over the next year. It'll be insane. I think it'll be such a great opportunity to create something really cool," he told E!News.

"Sam Smith at the Grammys was just insane. I've been listening to a lot of Sam Smith, Ed Sheeran and I'm living in hope for this Adele album. So, yes, I am quite biased toward the Brits."

Sykes, who previously dated Ariana Grande, said he was keen to branch out on his own because "there is always the chance to surprise people as they are only now seeing 100% of me for the first time."

Kiss Me Quick is scheduled for release in June.
