In a bizarre and widely criticised moment, controversial Kick streamer N3on posed an offbeat and insensitive question to Filipino boxing icon Manny Pacquiao during a live stream—just weeks ahead of the champion's upcoming return to the ring.

The interaction, which left viewers stunned and Pacquiao visibly uncomfortable, has reignited conversations around respect, cultural sensitivity, and the painful history behind one of the most persistent rumours surrounding the fighter's early life.

What Happened During N3on's Stream With Pacquiao

During the recent live stream, N3on sat down with Pacquiao for a casual meal and conversation—but things quickly took a turn. The streamer's first question, 'Have you ever eaten dog before?', left Pacquiao visibly stunned.

Ignoring the awkwardness, N3on continued with further inappropriate questions, including whether Pacquiao would 'be down to smoke a blunt with Snoop Dogg'. Pacquiao politely declined, responding that he does not smoke. N3on replied: 'Oh, you don't smoke? Oh sorry. Sorry. Ah sh*t!'

Despite issuing multiple apologies, the streamer persisted with other uncomfortable topics, including gambling. Pacquiao, a devout Christian, father of five, and former senator, eventually distanced himself from the conversation and left the table altogether.

N3on, seemingly bewildered by the boxer's reaction, attempted to smooth things over with compliments about Pacquiao's parenting. He ended the stream saying: 'This is f–cking cooked!'

The Real Story Behind the Dog Rumour

The dog-eating question posed by N3on was not entirely random—but it was grossly misdirected. In Manny Pacquiao's 2010 autobiography Pacman, the boxer recounts a traumatic childhood memory involving his father, Rosalio Pacquiao.

Growing up in poverty, Pacquiao adopted a stray dog who watched over him as he practised punching a banana tree. But one day, after an argument, Pacquiao's father allegedly killed and ate the dog.

'He killed my dog,' Pacquiao wrote. 'He took the puppy I found and killed it. To a young boy, that was unforgivable — it was stealing something I loved, which is far more terrible than stealing money.'

While the two have since reconciled, Rosalio Pacquiao denied the allegation, stating: 'Most of the time we had only bananas and root crops to eat, but when I did make more money, I made sure my family ate rice.'

Regardless of the disputed details, the moment remains a sensitive part of Pacquiao's past—and far from appropriate banter for a live stream.

Backlash Against N3on

N3on's behaviour during the interview has reignited criticism over his history of attention-seeking and poor judgment as a streamer. His awkward questions were seen as deeply disrespectful—not just to Pacquiao, but also to his fans, family, and culture.

What was intended as a light-hearted segment before Pacquiao's July 19 comeback fight against Mario Barrios ended with the legendary boxer walking away in discomfort—leaving viewers questioning whether Kick should be doing more to hold its streamers accountable.
