Will Smith has been spotted sporting a bald head for his role as Deadshot in upcoming DC Comics film Suicide Squad.
The Fresh Prince Of Bel Air star still had a head of (albeit short) hair when he stepped out late last month to attend the BET's Black Girls Rock event in New Jersey, with his wife Jada Pinkett Smith but now filming is finally underway for David Ayer's supervillain movie, the 46-year-old actor has had to lose his locks.
Within the DC Universe, the character of Deadshot has a full body costume with a tight-fitting mask that covers his entire head in the majority of his appearances in the comics, which is probably behind Smith's move; to enable the stylists and make-up artists to achieve that distinctive look.
Smith is not the only member of the Suicide Squad cast to alter their appearance for their roles. Ayer, whose latest directorial piece was war film Fury, posted an image on Twitter back in March of himself poised with scissors as if he were about to cut Jared Leto's ponytail off, and it turns out he wasn't joking. Moments later, Leto posted a photograph of his new short crop accompanied by the hashtag #SuicideSquad. The actor will be playing The Joker alongside Smith's Deadshot.
The Fight Club actor then went even further with his transformation into the notorious baddie by bleaching his hair white blonde last month.
Suicide Squad will not be released until 2016 and will boast a star-studded cast including The Wolf Of Wall Street's Margot Robbie, Jai Courtney and model Cara Delevingne. The Social Network actor Jesse Eisenberg has also been heavily rumoured to make a cameo as Superman's nemesis, Lex Luthor.
It will centre on imprisoned supervillains rather than the typical heroes seen in comic book movies, as they are forced to carry out black ops tasks for a government agency in turn for leniency regarding their jail sentences.
