In a statement to IGN Crytek games has denied that it is currently developing titles for Microsoft's next-generation Xbox 720 console.

Crytek were first suspected of having a development kit for the Xbox 720 when Videogamer reported that an unnamed source from the company told them they were working on a new Timesplitters game for it.

The source went on to tell Videogamer that Microsoft was planning to reveal its new console at 2012's E3.

In a statement made to IGN official Crytek representatives denied such claims, calling them outright false.

"Relating to the recent rumours, Crytek do not have any next generation hardware from Microsoft, nor do we know when Microsoft may announce future hardware or what that hardware will entail.

"Crytek is working at pushing the boundaries of what current technology can bring, including our focus on DX11 which will be released shortly as an update for Crysis 2," commented Crytek representatives to IGN.
