13 August 2011: The Pick of Today's Football Transfer Rumours
The pick of today's Premier League, Serie A, La Liga and Bundesliga football transfer rumours, news and gossip for 13 August, 2011. All the latest transfer rumours surrounding Man Utd, Chelsea, Arsenal, Liverpool, Tottenham Hotspur, Manchester City, Bayern Munich, AC Milan, Inter Milan, Juventus, Roma, Barcelona and Real Madrid will be covered here.
Arsenal will ask Manchester City to include Carlos Tevez in any deal taking Samir Nasri to Eastlands. Tevez wants a move to Argentina to be closer to his family and you can get flights to Buenos Aires from Heathrow and Gatwick so that's almost a plausible rumour. Arsene Wenger has ruled out a move for Valencia winger Juan Mata after baulking at the Spanish side's £50m valuation of the player. Arsenal captain Cesc Fabregas has reportedly said adios to his Emirates team-mates as he heads for a return to Barcelona, despite Wenger insisting no-one is leaving the club.
Across town, Tottenham striker Robbie Keane is off to play soccer-ball in the MLS after signing a two-year, £5m contract with Los Angeles Galaxy. Meanwhile, Spurs boss Harry Redknapp is prepared to pay £35m for Colombian striker Falcao, the Porto star reportedly has a buy-out clause of £80m.
Chelsea boss Andre Villas-Boas is planning a Porto-raid all of his own and, since he used to manage the side, he probably knows where the spare key is kept. Underneath the first flowerpot on the left. It's always underneath the first flowerpot on the left. The Blues boss is ready to offer £15.7m plus one unnamed player for wing-back Alvaro Pereira, according to the Mail.
Liverpool manager Kenny Dalglish has called a halt to David Ngog's proposed £4m move to Bolton because he has not yet found a lightweight forward who will insist on wearing gloves in May to replace the Frenchman. Dalglish is also likely to fail with a £10m bid for Stoke defender Ryan Shawcross.
And that's your lot for today, thankfully there is some genuine football on the TV to keep us warm until next summer.
