Adele has apparently told a French radio station she plans to release a new single, by the end of the year.

"If I didn't write my own songs, I'd be out next week with a new album. I have to take time and live a little bit. There were a good two years between my first and second albums, so it'll be the same this time," the singer was quoted as saying by the BBC.

The singer's second album, "21", enjoyed great success, selling more than 20 million copies worldwide.

When asked if the success of her previous album could affect her new one, the singer replied she was not worried about it.

"I don't think I'll feel the pressure for the next album to be as big as the last one because I know that's not really possible. What's happened with this album is very rare anyway," she explained.

The British sensation has had an absolutely wonderful 2012, so far, with two Brits and six Grammys to her name.
