We thought Robert Earnshaw's open goal miss for Wales against England on Tuesday would take some beating but it turns out the real gold was happening over 2000 miles away in Egypt.

In a 4-0 win over Kima Aswan, Al Ahly striker Amir Sayoud took one of the worst penalty kicks imaginable. With a quick scuttle up to the ball, he attempted a cheeky shimmy to wrong-foot the goalkeeper. Unfortuantely the only fool was the 21-year-old who contrived to get his own studs caught in the turf mid-motion, falling flat on his face, and rolling the ball gently into the keeper's arms.

To add insult to injury, Sayoud was subsequently booked for his trouble. Take a look at the video above and let us know if you can think of any worse spot-kicks.
