The American Foundation for AIDS Research's (amfAR) New York City's Fashion Week kick-off gala that took place at Cipriani Wall Street, in New York, on Wednesday, was a star-studded night filled with awards and honours.
The 2012 New York Fall/Winter Fashion Week starts on start Feb. 9 and will go ontil Feb. 16.
amfAR is a leading organization dedicated to the support of HIV/AIDS research. The amfAR New York Gala honors individuals who have made outstanding contributions to the fight against AIDS and raised much needed funds for AIDS research. The gala, held on the eve of New York Fashion Week special, also pays tributes to honorees Roberto Cavalli, Caroline Scheufele and Goldman Sachs Gives.
Importnatly, the guests also paid a special tribute to Dame Elizabeth Taylor, a staunch supporter of the fight against AIDS (and a victim of cancer) during the event.
The host of the night was actress Sarah Jessica Parker. Guests included Heidi Klum (who showed up solo), Elizabeth Hurley, Lindsay Lohan, Jennifer Hudson, model Cindy Crawford, fashion mogul Roberto Cavalli, television host Padmalakshmi and many more other celebrities.
