Virat Kohli

"It was a tricky situation, Rohit getting out early, credit to Shikhar for the way he batted, delivering when the team needed the most. The 94 stand was the game changer.

"I back myself to find boundaries and hit the gaps, I don't try to hit too many sixes ... I enjoy the crowd being against me, it pumps me up, the more they boo me the more it motivates me."

Hardik Pandya

It got so much motivation from the crowd, not cheering the India sound ... I've played three series and won all so it feels amazing ...

India director Ravi Shastri

"Just told them it's a final, enjoy it. Remember the celebrations Bangladesh did when they beat us, so just get the bloody job done. We have a good all-round side, packed with power hitters ... any of them can fire.

"If any area we have to tighten up, it is the bowling department. Tremendous self-belief, the tour of Australia was extremely important, bouncing back to win four matches after losing the first four. I was not surprised one bit when they chased this down."

TOSS...!!! India win the toss and MS Dhoni elects to ball first

Rameez Raja is in the middle with the two captains.

We will have a toss in a while.

VVS Laxman suggests it is best for the team to chase if they win the toss. Will the toss be crucial this evening?

The final will start in less than 30 minutes as the match is reduced to 15 overs.

There is no changes regarding the situation at Sher-e-Bangla. Hopefully to see some action soon, though expecting some deduction in the number of overs.

In the next 15 minutes, the umpires will take a look at the pitch and 10 minutes later, there will be an inspection of the ground.

Indian players are on the pitch and just warming up with the help of a football.

If the match does not start in six minutes (which looks highly unlikely at this moment), then there will be reduction in the number of overs.

MS Dhoni on Bhuvneshwar Kumar

"He is a hard-working guy. He always works hard in the nets and also in the gym and I feel that's something that is important for the fast bowlers, to keep themselves fit and also take the break in the best possible manner. That has actually helped him increase the pace but at the same time, it has not affected his swing bowling.

"That is key, because you don't want to bowl quick but lose that extra movement that you have. So that's a big positive sign for us. And when it comes to his consistency, he is still somebody who bowls very consistently with his line and length. So overall, he has used the break, whether it was forced or when he was out of the side in the best possible manner and also him coming good gives us that extra option in case Shami doesn't get fit, he's somebody who can straight away come in and start doing the work for the team."

Latest from @BCCI's official Twitter account

Credit to the ground staff at Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium, Mirpur for the efforts they are putting in to make sure there will be a game. With the help of the a good drainage system in the ground, the water has quickly disappeared from the field. That should be good news.

If the match does not start in the next 30 minutes, then there will be reduction in the number of overs.

The rain has stopped, but the covers are still on. The next update will be at 2:30pm GMT/8pm IST (8:30pm local time).

Harsha Bhogle

"Ground staff out in full strength. Crowds cheering every move. The drainage is amazingly good."

The only change so far is that the intensity of the rain has reduced. Reduced, not stopped.

Some good news

We are less than 30 minutes away from the start. There is likely to be any loss of overs if it starts before 2:30pm GMT/8pm IST (8:30pm local time).

Apparently, the lights were switched off as a precautionary measure. On now but still drizzling.

ESPN Cricinfo reports only one floodlight is functional at the moment, while the remaining three have gone off. Due to the storm, the frame of the main screen at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium is blown away.

ESPN Cricinfo reports the floodlights at Sher-e-Bangla have gone out. The entire ground is dark.

India team director Ravi Shastri

Last year Sri Lanka were the world champions here [in the Asia Cup and World T20]. Bangladesh has played very good cricket too. Not long ago Pakistan was in the top two. Now it is India. You can never discount teams in the subcontinent.

Bangladesh captain Mashrafe Mortaza

The flavor of this match is going to be different but if we play the way we have been playing in the last three matches, hope fully we will keep our momentum going and get something good in the end.

There could be disappointment here as the covers are on the ground due to a sudden storm at Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium.

India have been in fine form so far in the 2016 Asia Cup. The 2007 T20 world champions are looking to extend their unbeaten run in the final on Sunday.

Bangladesh sealed a berth in the final after defeating the likes of Pakistan, Sri Lanka and the United Arab Emirates (UAE). Their only defeat came at the hands of India. Can they avoid another defeat in the final?
