Serena Williams, Ana Ivanovic, Na Li were in action for the Women's Singles in their fourth round clashes, while Leander Paes and Radek Stepanek were up against Yuki Bhambri and Michael Venus in their third round fixture of the 2014 Australian Open.

Fourth Round

Sunday witnessed a big upset at the Rod Laver Arena in Melbourne as top seed Serena Williams crashed out of the Women's Singles competition suffering a fourth round defeat against Ana Ivanovic.

The Serbian came back from a first set defeat to beat the Women's World number one, 4-6, 6-3, 6-3, in less than 2 hours. Williams had managed to get 13 aces throughout the game, but Ivanovic's perseverance witnessed her knock 16 return winners, helping her book a place in the quarter-finals.

Meanwhile, fourth-seeded Na Li swept aside Ekaterina Makarov in the other fourth round clash beating the Russian, 6-2, 6-0 in straight sets.

Angelique Kerber could not get get the better of 28<sup>th seed, Flavia Pennetta, as the German lost out to the Italian, 1-6, 6-4, 5-7.

Li and Pennetta will go against each other in the last eight of the competition.

Men's Doubles

Third Round

2012 Australian Open Men's Doubles winners Leander Paes and Radek Stepanek were too hot for Yuki Bhambri and Michael Venus as the game ended, 6-3, 6-2.

Seventh seeded duo, Rohan Bopanna and Alsam-Ul-Haq Quereshi lost to Treat Huey and Dominic Inglot, 4-6, 6-7.

Australian duo Alex Bolt and Andrew Whittington emerged victorious against Spaniards Pablo Carreno Busta and Guillermo Garcia-Lopez, 6-7, 7-6, 7-5.

Women's Doubles

Third Round

Jarmila Gajdosova and Ajla Tomljanovic saw off a second set fight back from Timea Babos and Petra Martic to win the match, 6-2, 7-5.

While, Lucie Hradecka and Michaella Krajicek succumbed to a defeat at the hands of Shahar Peer and Silvia Soler-Espinosa, 6-4, 6-7, 2-6.

Fourth seeds, Kveta Peschke and Katarina Srebotnik defeated Hao-Ching Chan and Liezel Huber, 6-2, 6-7, 6-4.

Peschke and Srebotnik will now face Gajdosova and Tomljanovic in the last eight of the tournament.
