Iron Man will feature in Captain America 3
Avengers: Age of Ultron Marvel Studios

Iron Man, Thor, Captain America, Hulk and the rest of the heroes from The Avengers might be the most popular characters in the franchise right now but they might not stick around for too long.

As per reports, post the upcoming Avengers: Age of Ultron, the roster of superheroes might change leading to a new and different team in Avengers 3.

"I think it's not a secret that Joss and I and all of us at Marvel think that part of the fun of Avengers is the rotating team, for sure," Marvel Studio's Kevin Feige stated in an earlier interview.

Here's how it may set up in Avengers 2, according to a Badass Digest report:

"At the end of 'Age of Ultron' Cap will assemble a team that is a mix of familiar and new faces, leading forward into Phase Three."

"The make-up of that team is, technically, up in the air until that scene is shot (I suspect it's being saved for either scheduled reshoots or will be snuck into the schedule of 'Captain America 3,' which goes before cameras early next year), but Joss Whedon's script did indicate who would be on that team. I won't reveal all the names – and some have changed in between drafts, by the way – but one character who has always been in this new team is Captain Marvel (called Ms. Marvel)."

Ms Marvel is spawned after Carol Danvers, a member of the United States Air Force, who has a deadly encounter with a Kree (extraterrestrial humanoid race) device after being kidnapped by an alien villain.

Her life is saved by the Kree superhero, (also known as) Captain Marvel, and while she sustains injuries, she also ends up acquiring powers such as flight, near-invulnerability, the ability to predetermine the movement of her opponents and shoot concussive energy bursts from her hands.
