A video has been released by police showing the moment a cyclist was punched in the face by an Audi driver after a near collision with the vehicle in Barking, east London. The CCTV footage, published online by the Metropolitan Police, shows the 47-year-old unnamed victim being assaulted outside a grocery store along Ripple Road at approximately 6pm on 4 October.

The incident occurred after the suspect driving in a silver Audi A4 narrowly missed knocking the victim off his bike down the same street. After the driver parked his car and went inside the shop, the cyclist waited outside before confronting the man about his driving behaviour.

The suspect proceeded to punch the cyclist three times in the face, causing the him to fall to the floor. After the victim called police, the suspect ran off down King Edwards Road

The suspect is described as 6ft 3in tall, in his mid-20s and was wearing a grey track suit. He has short black hair and a black moustache.

Police have released the CCTV footage in the hope that anyone who may recognise the suspect, or was a witness to the assault, will come forward with information.
