Qualifying review

Hamilton grabbed his fourth and Mercedes the 18th consecutive pole at the Circuit Gilles Villeneuve on Saturday as Vettel was knocked out in Q1.

Nico Rosberg, who was the fastest in FP3, had to settle for the second place after failing to match his teammates' pace in the final session.

Kimi Raikkonen out-qualified his teammate for the first time this season and will start in the third place with compatriot Valtteri Bottas joining him on row 2 in the fourth.

With BHP being king at the circuit, the Mercedes powered Lotus cars locked up the third row with Sebastian Grosjean out-qualifying teammate Pastor Madonado.

Jenson Button also missed qualifying with an engine change, while Toro Rosso's Max Verstappen will serve a 15-place grid penalty for a similar offence.

It should be an interesting race for Vettel if the team can fix his car, because Ferrari's race pace on the super soft tyres looked good on Friday.
