City Art Search application for Windows Phone lets you search for artworks from around the world Microsoft

City Art Search is an application for Windows Phones that lets users search over 2,100 works of art from across the world, and provides completed information like the galleries and museums they are located in.

If you are planning a tour, you can use the City Art Search to view which galleries have masterpieces and determine what are the must-see works of art in any given city.

City Art Search can be downloaded for free from the Windows Phone Store, and the app is custom-made for Microsoft's Windows Phone 8.1 operating platform.

Along with the above, the app has also been updated to feature other enhancements such as Live Tile Support, Basic results sorting support and general performance/stability enhancements.

Live Tile Support

Pin the app to your start screen and it will cycle through nine most recent favorite images. If you have no favorites, it will cycle though a pre-selected set of famous paintings. The Live Tile can be turned off from the settings page.

Basic Results Sorting Support

Within each gallery you can sort artworks by title, artist or year. Added press-hold-activated re-querying context menus for both gallery strips and art strips in the results panel.
