East Ham murder: Woman in 20s dies from 'multiple serious injuries' at east London house
Scotland Yard detectives have launched a murder inquiry after a woman died of "multiple serious injuries" at a home in East Ham, Newham in east London.
Police were called to an address on Eversleigh Street at 8:12pm on Thursday (30 July) to reports that a woman had been seriously injured.
Officers and London Ambulance Service (LAS) attended the scene and found the victim in her 20s having suffered a number of serious injuries but she was pronounced dead at the scene minutes later at 8:18pm.
A man was arrested on suspicion of murder in the early hours of Friday (31 July) and he currently remains in custody at an east London police station.
Although officers believe they know the identity of the deceased, formal identification is yet to take place.
Enquiries are underway to trace her next of kin. A post mortem examination will be scheduled in due course.
The investigation is being led by Detective Chief Inspector Rob Pack from the Homicide and Major Crime Command (HMCC).
