'Only About 100 Times': Domestic Call Unravels Mother's Secret After Son Tells Police Incest Began at 18

A domestic violence call at a Florida home led to incest charges against a 46-year-old mother and her 22-year-old son after the son allegedly told deputies he had been having a sexual relationship with his mother since he was 18, according to Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd.

Judd said deputies later questioned the mother, Christina Clemens, who allegedly responded that the pair had had sex 'only about 100 times'.

The investigation began after Christina called authorities over an alleged domestic dispute involving her son, Shane Clemens, at their Lakeland home. Shane was arrested on a domestic-violence battery allegation before he reportedly made the disclosure to deputies.

Both Christina and Shane were subsequently charged with incest. The allegations remain unresolved in court, and neither defendant has been convicted.

Domestic Call Leads To Alleged Disclosure

Judd said Shane became angry after his arrest and told officers: 'I've been having sex with my mama since I was 18 years old.' Deputies then asked Christina whether the claim was true, and Judd said she replied: 'Only about 100 times. I didn't stutter.'

The reported exchange changed the direction of the police response. What began as an investigation into an alleged assault became a separate inquiry into the alleged relationship between the two defendants.

Investigators documented material beyond the sheriff's public account, although the details released publicly remain limited. Published reporting indicates deputies interviewed Shane again while he was in custody and later interviewed Christina after advising her of her Miranda rights.

Deputies also interviewed Christina's husband, who reportedly lived with the family. He told officers that he and Christina were 'happily married' and that he did not know about the alleged sexual relationship between Christina and Shane, according to Judd.

He said he had become 'a little suspicious' because Christina and Shane would go into the master bedroom together and lock the door. He was not accused of wrongdoing and is not known to be under investigation.

The husband's account is presented as central to the claim that the alleged relationship had been concealed within the household. However, he did not describe knowing the nature of the alleged conduct before deputies questioned him.
