Overview

Hull City welcome Premier League champions Manchester City to the KC Stadium on Saturday.

The Tigers are struggling at the moment and come into this game following a demoralising loss against West Bromwich Albion in the Capital One Cup on Tuesday. Hull were leading 2-1 with three minutes left to play, but crumbled and ended up losing the match 3-2, knocking them out of the League Cup.

Steve Bruce is aware that his defence is struggling and they are unable to prevent teams from scoring goals. With Manchester City arriving on Saturday, there won't be a bigger test.

Meanwhile, the Premier League champions come into this game high on confidence following a 7-0 rout of Sheffield Wednesday in the League Cup. Manchester City have been struggling in the Premier League and have failed to find a win in their last three games.

However, all their players will be buoyed by the mid-week result and will be hoping to carry the momentum into the weekend. Manuel Pellegrini has confirmed that Lampard will be rested following his heroics against Chelsea last weekend and against Wednesday during mid-week.

Apart from him, Steven Jovetic and Fernando are doubtful but otherwise he has the full squad at his disposal.

Stat of the Match: Hull have only beaten Manchester City once in their last five meetings.
