When we think of some of the greatest volleyed goals we immediately reflect on Zinedine's Zidane wonderful strike in the Champions League final of 2002 and Marco van Basten's outrageous effort at Euro 88. Now another name must enter the history books after Fulham's Pajtim Kasami's stunning goal against Crystal Palace on Monday night.

It may have been a rather unglamorous tie as a struggling Fulham took on newly promoted Crystal Palace but it produced a wonderful goal that had manager Martin Jol lavishing praise on the Swiss midfielder, claiming the volley was even better than Van Basten's.

"It was better than you think. He controlled it on his chest and put it in the other corner. Marco's was very different. You can't compare them - but this was better!"
