Little Mix singer Jesy Nelson broke down in tears on stage just hours before the band announced they were cancelling two gigs. The singer spoke to the crowd between songs during the band's Dublin performance on Wednesday (30 March).

Fighting back tears as she introduced the song Little Me, she said: "If you're ever feeling really c*** about yourself or you're not feeling confidant that's exactly why we wrote this song." As her band mates rushed to comfort her she continued: "I don't know what's wrong with me! I'm so emotional! Ireland what have you done to me?"

The moment was caught on camera by fans and the video quickly went viral on social media. Just hours later, Little Mix were forced to cancel a gig in Belfast amid reports that the singer was taken ill. The band were due to perform two shows at the city's SSE arena as part of the group's Get Weird tour but just minutes after the doors opened for the afternoon performance, they announced they would not be going ahead.

A statement from gig promoter Aikens said: "We regret to announce that both Little Mix shows at the SSE Arena will not take place today due to Jesy being unwell and not able to perform. Please hold on to your tickets – we hope to be able to make a further announcement on possible rescheduling later today."

A message on the group's official Twitter account read: "Little Mix have unfortunately had to cancel both of their arena shows in Belfast today. Sadly Jesy is unwell and unable to sing, and as a result both the matinee and evening shows are cancelled. Little Mix would like to apologise to their fans. Ticket holders should hold on to their tickets and await further news."

Fans have been speculating over what could have caused the singer to break down on stage, with many expressing concern and the hashtag #GetWellSoonJesy now trending on Twitter.

One fan wrote: "@LittleMix I'm dissapointed but I just want Jesy to feel better soon." Another worried fan said: "LittleMix can you let us know what is wrong with jesy as there is so many rumours going round"
