Liverpool managed to emerge victorious against Cardiff City at this year's Carling Cup final by just a whisker, pulling off a win on penalties.
This year's Carling Cup finals, between the two sides, proved to be quite an encounter. Cardiff City, after getting an early strike through Mason (19'), were trailing behind 1-2, after two strikes from Skrtel and Kuyt at the 60th and 108th minute respectively put Liverpool on front.
With time against them, Cardiff City somehow managed to equalize, via Turner at the 118th minute, with only two minutes of extra time to spare.
And although Steven Gerrard and Miller both missed Liverpool's opening two penalties, The Reds managed to win their eighth Carling Cup on 3-2 Penalties, after Steven Gerrard's cousin Anthony Gerrard missed a crucial penalty for Cardiff City.
