A man has been killed and another seriously injured after a double shooting in a street in Liverpool, Merseyside police said.
Emergency services were called around 1am following reports two men had been shot on Ravensthorpe Green, in the Norris Green area of Liverpool
Police say a man, believed to be in his 30s, was declared dead at the scene by paramedics.
A second man, in his 20s, was taken to hospital with gunshot wounds where he remains in a critical condition.
The motive for the shootings is not clear, police have said.
Officers have cordoned off the scene and are making house-to-house inquiries. An investigation is under way and police are appealing for anyone with information to come forward.
