Liverpool and Tottenham are interested in landing Sporting Lisbon striker Ricky van Wolfswinkel when the transfer window opens next month.
Talksport reports Italian side Fiorentina are also in contention for the services of the Dutch international as they prepare a £10m bid and are favourites to sign van Wolfswinkel.
The 23-year-old moved to the Portuguese club during the summer of 2011 from the Dutch side Utrecht, and has been in impressive form since making the switch. He is currently Sporting's top scorer with five goals in nine appearances this season.
Earlier this month, the player's agent Louis Laros admitted other clubs were interested in van Wolfswinkel, but claimed his client is looking forward to extending his stay in Lisbon and is close to signing a new deal with Sporting.
"There are always clubs asking about the footballer but Ricky is happy in Lisbon and at Sporting. He has still not fulfilled the challenges at Sporting and it is his desire to follow them. For that reason we are working on a new deal" Laros said as quoted in Sky Sports.
"It is practically impossible he leaves in the January market. The conversations with Sporting's directors are very advanced and I expect news in the next few weeks."
