Manchester United are preparing a summer swoop for Felipe Anderson to add more pace to their frontline, having already secured the services of Memphis Depay from PSV Eindoven.

The Sunday People reported that the Red Devils are also keeping tabs on West Bromwich striker Saido Berahino, but Anderson is on the top of Louis van Gaal's wishlist for the summer, as they look to forge a title push after securing a top-four finish this season. United have sent scouts to Lazio to monitor the midfielder, who is expected to be available for a sizeable fee, in the same range that the Red Devils paid for Depay.

An attacking midfielder by trade, the Brazilian has the vision and pace to disrupt opposition defences and would be a massive boost to the United squad, who have been found wanting for ideas this season. With Depay on the wings and Wayne Rooney up front in attack, the Red Devils can form a serious threat and retrieve their fear factor, which after two years without Sir Alex Ferguson has taken a nosedive.

Chelsea are also believed to be interested in the player, with Jose Mourinho recently revealing his apprehension that United's transfer activity can inflate the prices in the market.

Louis van Gaal has been told that he will have a massive amount of cash available for transfers with new commercial deals kicking in along with United being back in the Champions League, which should also improve their finances.

The 20-time Champions are looking to bolster other departments on the filed as well, with a goalkeeper being their priority right now, given the uncertainty over David de Gea's future at the club. The keeper is set to move to Real Madrid in the summer, with reports claiming that the player has already agreed personal terms with the club.

The Spaniard has been undoubtedly their best player this season, single-handedly winning them points, last evidenced against Crystal Palace when his save in the second half secured an important win for the Red Devils.

United have now set their sights on a move for Petr Cech, who is set to leave Chelsea in the summer.
