Greek debt negotiations continued to wreak havoc on the FTSE 100 on Tuesday 30 June after the market took a serious dive on the same concerns the day before.

Safe bets cleaned up as investors decided to play it safe and scale back risk, investing in pharmaceutical giant Hikma, boosting the stock 2.49% to the top of the market.

"Passenger aircraft leasing group Capital Lease Aviation's shares took off after it revealed it will pay an interim dividend of 2p per share in October," according to analysts at AJ Bell. "The company's cash position is strong and it is in the market for the acquisition of aircraft."

The market dropped -1.50% to finish at 6,520.98 after the appearance of a Greek default on the country's debt appeared inevitable when it asked for €29.1bn (£20.6bn, $32.4bn) in loans to cover its repayments until the end of 2017.

Gardening company William Sinclair posted poor results, which caused a slump in share prices over uncertainty whether there will be demand for the cash-strapped company's products.
