She is one of the biggest singers on the planet and now Katy Perry is hoping to help launch some future pop stars.

The Dark Horse songstress has unveiled Metamorphosis Music, her very own record label.

The new venture will be run in association Capital Records, the label that represents the 29-year-old as well as stars such as Sam Smith and Jennifer Lopez.

Announcing her label on Instagram, the 29-year-old posted a picture of her company log with the caption: "Introducing my new label venture with @capitolrecords featuring my first artist FERRAS @ferras"

Although little is known of FERRAS, Perry describes his music as "incredibly talented & soulful".

She said: "Ferras is a man with a message, and a unique lyrical way of communicating his perspective on life that makes you feel connected to every note when you listen. I believe he is going to be an important artist to watch unfold."

Ferras's debut EP, which was executively produced by Perry, consists of five tracks. She also features on his song Legends Never Die.
