Today, Michelle Bachmann, a Tea Party favourite, formally launched her campaign by announcing she intends to run for presidency in 2012.

The politician describes herself as an economic conservative and a fierce opponent of abortion and gay marriage whilst adding she is a 'bold choice' for president.

Looking back at some of her comments over the years, it becomes clear that Bachmann is not scared to put her point of view across, even if her vision and understanding of the world is sometimes rather peculiar.
