Miley Cyrus Topless: Singer Flashes 16 Million Twitter Followers

She has spent the best part of 2013 making headlines with her controversial antics, so it comes as no surprise that Miley Cyrus would want to end the year on an equally risqué note.

The Wrecking Ball hitmaker recently wished her loyal fans a Merry Christmas with a Twitter flash.

In a revealing snap posted online, the 20-year-old star lifted up her shirt to expose her bare breasts. Her nipples were only concealed with hearts using an app on her phone.

The singer completed the raunchy snap by once again sticking out her tongue to make her trademark facial expression.

"Merry Christmas," she captioned the pic. "THANK YOU NY for being on of the few states to @freethenipple."

The snap was amongst the many taken while the pop star was hanging out with pals in New Jersey. Her light-hearted captions included "slutty santas," and "Christmas Kittys"

The Free the Nipple campaign seeks to end the media's "glorification of violence and repression of nudity."

Cyrus has been an advocate for the movement and previously tweeted her support.

"It's not about getting your titties out. It's about equality," she said.
