  • Agent refuses to explain why Frenchman opted to move to Old Trafford rather than Real Madrid.
  • Admitted that he has no relationship with Los Blancos president Florentino Perez.

Mino Raiola has said Paul Pogba is exactly where he wants to be, following the France international's record-shattering €105m (£88.8m, $118.6m) record move from Juventus to Manchester United. The outspoken super-agent also denied rumours a bad relationship with Real Madrid president Florentino Perez played a role in the Frenchman switching to Old Trafford rather than the Santiago Bernabeu.

Pogba's move back to the Premier League outfit become the biggest in football history, eclipsing the €101m Real Madrid paid to Tottenham Hotspur in 2013 for Gareth Bale. However, Raiola had played down the fee, saying he was only concerned with his client playing where he wants to play.

"The important thing is that the player is happy where he is. For me the fact that the transfer fee was a record is not important," Raiola said during an interview with Cadena Cope. "Football players at this level are not sold, players at this level are purchased. A very beautiful painting is not sold, the owner never wants to sell it, but people buy them."

Raiola recently said Zinedine Zidane wanted his compatriot at Real Madrid. However, the agent offered no explanation for why Pogba snubbed Los Blancos.

"I do not like to talk about who was interested in a player after the business is done," Raiola said when asked about Real Madrid's chase for his charge. "Football specialists know that Pogba is the best player in the world in his position, and has the potential to be number one overall. But what's important is that the player is where he wants to be."

However, Raiola made it clear that his relationship with Perez had no influence on the decision.

"I don't have a bad relationship with Florentino Perez. Actually, I have no relationship with him. I never talk to him. I always speak with [Real Madrid general director] Jose Angel Sanchez, who I respect very much," he said. "I'm not jealous [about Jorge Mendes speaking with Florentino Perez]. He is not a woman. Florentino is the president of Real Madrid and is free to talk to who wants. The executive director is Jose Angel Sanchez. I do not need to be a friend of Florentino Perez, nor his enemy. "
