Model Miranda Kerr, whom Australian magazine The Who declared "Most Beautiful Person of 2012" has revealed her beauty secret! She credits coconut oil as being the major factor contributing to her beauty.

"I personally take four tablespoons of coconut oil per day, either on my salads, in my cooking or in my cups of green tea," the Victoria's Secret model told The Sun.

It should not be a surprise that since the news came out, coconut oil sales in the UK has gone up. According to Yahoo, sales at UK-based health food chain Holland & Barrett shot up 50 percent and much of that demand has been attributed to Kerr's statement. Apparently a £12.59 pot of the store's own branded product was sold out on the Web site.

Incidentally, according to I Love Natural Skin, coconut oil is good both for your hair and is a good skincare ingredient. Furthermore, coconut is also used in skin moisturisers and is also beneficial in treating rashes and wrinkles. Coconut also helps reduce dandruff and moisturises your scalp. However, it does contain a high amount of saturated fatty acids.

Kerr also attributed her looks to her son, Flynn.

"I was working 18-hour days. Now that pace has slowed so I can spend the majority of my time with Flynn. I'm first a wife and a mother, and then comes work," the model said.

Finally, the Australian beauty also believes breast feeding has helped her figure. Unlike other models, furthermore, Kerr also showed a more human self, revealing her craving for French fries and dark chocolate, saying she did indulge in junk food once in a while.

Kerr gave birth to 19 month old Flynn in 2011. She is married to actor, Orlando Bloom and hails from Sydney. She is the first Australian to enter the Victoria's Secret series.
