Championship leader and Honda rider Marc Marquez continued his dominance after he picked up the pole for the 2013 Red Bull Indianapolis Grand Prix. The 20-year-old has been the fastest during the first two practice sessions on Friday and also topped the qualifying session to seal his fourth pole of the season.

Overview

The Spaniard was the fastest during the two free practice sessions on Saturday before making it to the top during the qualifying session in the later part of the day. Marquez has won at the same venue in two occasions, while being a part of the Moto 2 in 2011 and 2012. The Honda rider clocked 1:37.958, leading reigning champion and Yamaha rider Jorge Lorenzo by 0.513sec who managed second.

Marquez could extend his lead at the top of the leader board if he manages to continue his impressive form during the Sunday's race at Indianapolis. His compatriot and Honda team-mate Dani Pedrosa sealed the third spot after clocking 1:38.485.

The Spanish trio has locked for the first row for the Red Bull Indianapolis GP's race on Sunday. Britain star and Tech 3 rider Cal Crutchlow will start from the second row after finishing fourth while his team-mate Bradley Smith was seventh.

Ducati's Nicky Hayden was sixth while Yamaha rider and six time world champion Valentino Rossi finished ninth in the qualifying session.
