Rider's Championship Review

Marquez slipped early during the start of the San Marino Grand Prix and finished the race in last but one position. However, the defending champion position at the top of the championship table is still intact as his 11 wins have seen him take the first position.

The Spaniard has 289 points and is 74 points ahead of his Honda teammate Dani Pedrosa. Yamaha rider Valentino Rossi is one point behind him in third spot. Meanwhile, Jorge Lorenzo is fourth with 177 points.
