Arsenal's Mesut Ozil may have been grabbing the headlines ever since moving to the Premier League but Manchester City midfielder David Silva is a more complete footballer; at least that is the opinion of West Ham United's Mark Noble.

The Hammers man came up against Silva this weekend and could only admire the ability of the Spaniard as he helped City claim an impressive 3-1 win at Upton Park.

Asked who he thought was better, Ozil or Silva, Noble told the Daily Mail: "At the minute Silva is probably better.

"He has got that experience. He has won things with Spain. He has won a championship here, he has won cups here and he is like that week in, week out.

"He is one of the best players on the pitch every time he goes out there. We have seen that over the last how many years since he has been here."

Silva may not have been receiving the same amount of praise as Ozil in recent weeks but it seems his performances have been equally impressive.

Arsenal's record signing has two league goals and three assists in his five Premier League appearances, statistics which are exactly matched by Silva who has also created more chances and completed more passes.

Both men scored at the weekend and will be hoping to demonstrate their influence on the European stage as Arsenal host Borussia Dortmund, while City face a tricky trip to Russia to play CSKA Moscow.

While Ozil has already excelled in this season's competition, as he opened the scoring against Napoli in the 2-0 win at the Emirates, Silva was unable to prevent City from suffering a 3-1 loss to Bayern Munich in their last Champions League group game.

However, City supporters will be hoping the 27 year old can provide a moment of magic so that he can live up to his new nickname bestowed upon on by his teammates.

"We call him Merlin, he's like a little wizard, isn't he? He is class," Micah Richards told the Daily Mail. "It's ridiculous. He is probably the best player I have played with.

"He just makes it look easy, the way he goes past people. He is just amazing."
