Italy's architecture and design industry is undergoing a renaissance in the form of "hybridisation".

Speaking with IBTimes UK on camera at Milan Design Week 2013 and Be Open event, esteemed art historian, critic and professor Philippe Daverio says the industry is at a crucial stage of hybridisation, which is when designers create structures with traditional materials and technology.

Daverio, who is also involved in strategic planning for public and private cultural organisations teaches at the universities and institutes of several cities and speaks to IBTimes UK exclusively.
