A man reportedly tried to sell pieces of charred bark, allegedly taken from the tree Paul Walker crashed into, on eBay.

According to TMZ, an unidentified seller posted six pieces of the charred tree from the site of Walker's death, asking for at least $100 apiece. However, after being targeted by hate mails, he withdrew the auction.

"I would like to apologise to the family, friends, and fans of Paul Walker. At the time I listed the bark for sale, I did not realise the emotional impact it would have," the seller told TMZ.

The Fast & Furious actor was on his way to a charity event with his friend and business partner Roger Rodas when the red Porsche Carrera GT driven by Rodas, lost control and smashed into a tree before bursting into flames. The duo were pronounced dead at the scene.

Previously, it was reported that police arrested two men who took parts from the sports car Walker died in. Jameson Witty, 18, along with another 25-year-old suspect stole parts of the vehicle as it was being towed away after the accident.

"A witness saw a male exit a vehicle that was following the tow truck. The male grabbed a piece of the wrecked Porsche off the tow truck bed. The male drove away with the stolen vehicle part." the sheriff's department said.

Walker is survived by his 15-year-old daughter Meadow and his 23-year-old girlfriend Jasmine Pilchard-Gosnell, who is devastated over his death. She is being now comforted by her mother Julie following the "horrible" accident.

"Paul was a really good guy and Jasmine is broken up by this. I went to Thanksgiving with him, played golf with him," her uncle, Barton Bruner told Daily Mail, "They had their ups and downs but they were together and looking to spend a bright future together. This is horrible news and unexpected. Her mother is with her and she is comforting her."
