Ed Sheeran Faces Boycott Calls After Agency Boss Casey Wasserman's Name Appears 109 Times in Epstein Files

Ed Sheeran is facing a fresh wave of online boycott calls after Casey Wasserman, the entertainment executive behind the agency representing the singer's North American live work, was linked to Jeffrey Epstein-related records, with one database listing 109 flight records involving Wasserman.

The development has landed as Sheeran's Loop Tour is already under intense scrutiny following Macklemore's removal and the subsequent withdrawal of several support acts.

However, the records involving Wasserman do not establish wrongdoing by Sheeran, and Sheeran himself has not been accused of involvement with Epstein.

Wasserman's Name Appears in Epstein Records

Wasserman's connection to the Epstein records has been documented separately from Sheeran. The entertainment executive, who founded Wasserman Media Group, appears in released records concerning Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell.

According to a database compiling publicly released records, Wasserman is listed in 109 flight records and 19 documents connected to Epstein-related material. The records include a 2002 trip on Epstein's private jet to Africa as part of a humanitarian delegation associated with the Clinton Foundation.

Documents also include correspondence between Wasserman and Maxwell from 2003. Wasserman has previously denied having a personal or business relationship with Epstein, while reporting has detailed the circumstances surrounding his contact with Epstein's circle.

Crucially, being named in the Epstein files does not by itself establish criminal conduct or wrongdoing.

Sheeran's Agency Link Fuels the Backlash

The controversy has intensified because Sheeran is connected to Wasserman's business empire. Wasserman's agency acquired North American live-music representation for Sheeran in 2021, although Wasserman himself is not Sheeran's personal manager. Sheeran's longtime manager is Stuart Camp.

That distinction has not stopped social media users from drawing attention to the connection.

One post accused Sheeran of failing to distance himself from people connected to Epstein and questioned why he remained with the agency. Another claimed that artists had previously left the agency after Wasserman's Epstein links became public.

Loop Tour Fallout Has Already Escalated

The new controversy arrives days after Macklemore was removed from Sheeran's US Loop Tour following his pro-Palestinian remarks at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey.

Macklemore said 'Free Palestine' during his 4 September performance and later criticised the treatment of Palestinians. He was subsequently removed from the remaining US dates after venue concerns and pressure surrounding his remarks. Sheeran said the decision was made by the promoter rather than by him.

Sheeran later said he had attempted to mediate between Macklemore, venue owners and other parties.

In his statement, Sheeran said: 'Macklemore coming off tour was the promoter's decision, it was not mine.'

The dispute then widened when Finneas, Lukas Graham, Aaron Rowe and Sheeran's touring band Beoga all withdrew from the remaining dates in solidarity with Macklemore.

Sheeran's $2 Million Pledge Adds Another Twist

As the tour controversy continued, Macklemore announced that he would donate his entire $1 million (£748,000) net earnings from the Loop Tour to six organisations supporting Palestinians.

He also challenged Robert Kraft, owner of the New England Patriots and Gillette Stadium, to match the donation. Kraft subsequently revealed that Sheeran had already approached him about a $2 million (£1.50 million) humanitarian donation before Macklemore made his public challenge.

Kraft said Sheeran had asked him to commit $2 million (£1.50 million) to help address the humanitarian crisis, with Kraft agreeing to match the amount. The recipients of Sheeran and Kraft's donations have not yet been specified.

With the Wasserman connection now circulating online, Sheeran's tour is facing another layer of scrutiny, although the Epstein-related records concern Wasserman and do not show that Sheeran participated in or was involved in Epstein's activities.
