Real Madrid face a tough test against local rivals Atletico Madrid in the first leg of the Champions League semi-final at the Santiago Bernabeu on 2 May.

Where to watch live

Kick-off is set for 7.45pm BST. The game will be broadcast live on BT Sport 2.

Overview

Marcelo's late winner gave Real Madrid a 2-1 win over Valencia at the weekend and kept them within touching distance of La Liga leaders Barcelona. The capital club are unbeaten in their last five home games in the semi-finals of the Champions League.

Gareth Bale (calf) and Pepe (ribs) are sidelined through injury for the hosts.

Atletico Madrid bounced back from their home defeat against Villarreal by beating Las Palmas 5-0 on 29 April. Diego Simeone's side drew 1-1 with Real Madrid at the Bernabeu in La Liga last month but were beaten 3-0 in the reverse fixture at the Vicente Calderon in November.

Juanfran, Jose Gimenez and Augusto Fernandez are all out injured, while Sime Vrsaljko (knee) is a doubt.

What managers say

Zinedine Zidane: "We know how important the first leg is. It's all we're thinking about. We're going to try and play from the first whistle. Our fans are always behind us and we ask for the same again tomorrow just as they were at the weekend. They help the side a lot and it's a plus for us. We need it. It's a semi-final, we know what we need to do, the Bernabéu crowd are always a help for the side." [via Uefa.com]

Diego Simeone: "I'm not thinking what the exact result will be. It'll be tight but hopefully we can take advantage of the spaces we create. We know the return leg is at home and that an away goal for them would be useful. They always play the same way and will attack us at our place. We're not thinking about the return leg yet, just tomorrow for now." [via Uefa.com]
