Revisitng key events from history has never been easy. But, thanks to the efforts of Youtube user derDon1234, we can watch important happenings from 1911 to 2011. Political stories, wars, major financial stories, natural and man-made calamities, breakthroughs in space etchnology and sporting events have been featured in the video.

The 10-minute video begins with Norwegian explorer Roald Amundsen reaching the South Pole in 1911. Then follows the sinking of the Titanic on its maiden journey in 1912. The video has footage from World War I; the October Revolution in Russia; completion of the 102-storey Empire State Building in 1931; Adolf Hitler appointed as Chancellor of Germany in 1933; the bombing of Pearl Harbor and the dropping of atom bombs in Japan during World War II. There are also images from India's Independence in 1947 and Mao Zedong's call for the Long March in China in 1934 and the Islamic Revolution in Iran in 1979.

The video has images of the Vietnam War, Pope John Paul II election in 1978, the demolition of Berlin in 1989, the Mars Rover landing in 1997, former US president Bill Clinton's affair with Monica Lewinsky, the Twin Towers attack in 2001 and this year's dreadful tsunami in Japan.
