Snoop Dogg Wants to Pay Someone $30,000 to Eat Ice Cream for Three Months, Here's How to Apply
Dr. Bombay is taking its flavour hunt global, offering one lucky taster $10,000 a month to explore new tastes

Snoop Dogg recently announced on X that he is hiring an international ice cream taster for Dr. Bombay, the frozen-treats brand he co-founded with his son. The three-month contract pays $10,000 a month. Applicants from anywhere in the world can apply for the role.
Dr. Bombay's roots run deep in Snoop Dogg's family. His father, Vernell Varnado, grew up on a Mississippi dairy farm, where he hand-churned ice cream. That family tradition helped inspire the brand Snoop launched with his son, Cordell Broadus, in 2023.
Snoop and Cordell have since brought that story to life with a Dr. Bombay scoop shop in Venice, California. The brand describes the concept as 'legacy, remixed', combining ice cream and sherbet with nostalgia and new energy. In a promotional video for the hiring campaign, Snoop's father, Vernell Varnado, encouraged the global search for new flavours, saying, 'Today, we are going global, baby. And we need you to help us find new flavours.'

What You'll Do as Snoop Dogg's Ice Cream Taster
Dr. Bombay is looking beyond the US for new flavour inspiration. Snoop announced the search on 27 August as the brand seeks to tap food and cultural trends from around the world, with Deel supporting its global hiring, payroll, and compliance.
The role involves more than tasting ice cream. As the international ice cream taster, the successful candidate will evaluate flavours and food experiences across different markets and turn those insights into ideas for the brand.
Core Responsibilities:
- Monitor food and flavour trends around the world
- Identify emerging cultural and social trends
- Report on what people are eating, drinking, and discussing
- Create engaging social content around tastings
- Suggest new flavour and marketing ideas
- Share findings during regular team check-ins
- Contribute to future flavour, product, and marketing ideas
Dr. Bombay's Ice Cream Job Requirements
Dr. Maya Warren, Dr. Bombay's ice cream scientist, said the company is looking for someone who can serve as a global tastemaker.
Key candidate qualifications and criteria include:
- Strong interest in food, culture, and emerging trends
- Sharp social instincts and good communication skills
- Curious, outgoing personality with an eye for what's next
- Ability to evaluate the taste, aroma, and texture of dairy-based ice cream
- Interest in food culture, content creation, or brand-building is a plus
- Ability to work on a three-month contract
- Open to applicants from around the world, including non-traditional candidates
- English proficiency; additional languages are a plus
- Have a valid passport
The role has already attracted a surge of interest. Deel's application page temporarily went offline after receiving an overwhelming response. Dr. Bombay's team will review shortlisted candidates, and Snoop himself will call the successful applicant to congratulate them.
There's a New Snoop Treat to Try Too
Dr. Bombay added Snoopsicles to its lineup in June, marking the brand's first popsicle. The frozen treat features a combination of raspberry, cherry, and lime sherbet and was sold in 24-bar boxes at select Costco locations for $14.99. The packaging states that the bars are made with real fruit juice and contain no artificial colours.
