Beyonce and Rihanna
No Problems Here: Beyonce appeared to confirm that she had no issues with Jay Z's protegee Rihanna Instagram

As speculation continues to grow over the reason why her sister attacked Shawn 'Jay Z' Carter after the Met Gala, Beyoncé appears to be indirectly denying some of the rumours making the rounds on the internet.

Amongst the theories and explanations being churned out is that Solange Knowles got angry after discovering that her brother-in-law planned to attend Rihanna's Met Gala after-party without his wife.

Knowles was allegedly 'drunk and irritated' and asked Jay Z: "Why can't you go home?" before turning to her superstar sibling and saying: "Why does your husband need to go to the club right now?"

Their subsequent exchange of words is said to have led to the violent altercation.

But now Queen B has seemingly rubbished these new claims by posting a snap of herself posing with Rihanna on the red carpet at the Met Gala.

In the image, she stands side-by-side with her husband's protege who is donning a white Stella McCartney frock. They both smile for the cameras.

Is this simply a PR stunt or an effort to clear RiRi's name? Fans are divided and feel no closer to finding answers.

"I'm shocked you posted this," one wrote.

Another said: "U don need to prove nyun anything..ur above all this..putting up pics like this, kinda makes u look like a teenager so unsure about herself n who lives for everyone else except for herself."

CCTV footage of Solange punching, kicking and lashing out at Jay Z in a lift at New York's Standard Hotel, was sold to celebrity news site TMZ for a reported $250,000 (£149,000) in what is said to be the Hotel's biggest-ever security breach.

The A-list venue, known for hosting celebrity soirees, has enlisted the help of showbiz lawyer Marty Singer to help find the person responsible for the leak.

"We are shocked and disappointed that there was a clear breach of our security system and the confidentiality that we count on providing our guests," a hotel spokesperson said in a statement.

Meanwhile, Beyoncé is showing the world that family comes first by posting photographs of herself with sister Solange. In the tender images, the pair can be seen hugging and laughing together.
