Overview

The team currently placed second from bottom in the points table, St Lucia Zouks have registered four points from five games, winning two while losing three encounters. The Zouks outfit come into this clash on the back of a 35-run win over St Kitts and Nevis Patriots in their last game on 21 July.

Skipper Darren Sammy, playing in a stadium named after him, was the star of the show putting in an all-round performance smashing 59 runs off 35 balls while also picking up one wicket to take home the player of the match award.

What will be of concern to the team management is the lack of form shown by their big stars with Shane Watson, David Miller and Mike Hussey struggling with the bat. The advantage for the Zouks is that they have played only five games so far and if they continue their winning run they could make a push for a place in the knock-out stages.

Their opponents Barbados Tridents find themselves in third place in the league table, winning three and losing three of the seven games played with one game being rained off. Unlike their opponents on the day, the Tridents come into this clash on the back of a 36-run loss to Jamaica Tallawahs on 20 July.

The loss of superstar batsman AB de Villiers is a big blow, with their star flying back home to prepare for action with South Africa. In his absence Nicholas Pooran stepped up smashing 51 off 25 balls, but it was not enough. Ahmed Shahzad who was brought in de Villiers's place, struggled to get going putting too much pressure on Shoaib Malik and skipper Kieron Pollard's shoulders.

If Tridents are to qualify for the play-off stage, their big name players need to stand up and perform.
