James Bond star Daniel Craig has joined the forces and is set to make an appearance in Star Wars Episode VII.

The Skyfall star is a big fan of the Star Wars saga, and according to reports, he has already filmed a mystery role in the upcoming seventh instalment of the franchise. The actor's look in the film has been kept discreet.

An insider told The Sun (via Metro): "Daniel asked for some sort of secret cameo role - and was happy to have his name left off the posters.

"Fans will love playing the guessing game trying to work out which covered up character is him."

The Cowboys & Aliens actor, who will reprise his role as the fictional British spy in the untitled James Bond movie, reportedly begged Star Wars director JJ Abrams for the small role.

According to the Metro, his face will not make an appearance.

"Daniel is close friends with JJ Abrams," the source said. "He asked for some sort of secret cameo role and was happy to have his name left off the posters".

Recently, The Avengers star Mark Ruffalo revealed that he wrote to Rian Johnson for a part in the Star Wars movie.

"I just reached out to Rian recently, by the way," Ruffalo told Collider.

He recently said: "My e-mail to Rian after all these years was, 'Rian, congratulations on everything you've been doing. And by the way, if there's a part in Star Wars, please, anything, please consider considering me to join you."

Star Wars: Episode VII is expected to hit cinemas on 18 December 2015.
