Tottenham host Georgian champions Dinamo Tbilisi for the second leg of the two clubs' qualifying tie for the UEFA Europa League group stages. Spurs hold a commanding 5-0 lead from the first leg in Georgia last midweek and are outright favourites to secure a place in the next round.

Overview

Andre Villas-Boas' men recorded a second straight win in the new Premier League season over the weekend. Tottenham beat newly promoted Crystal Palace 1-0 in their first game, courtesy a converted penalty by summer signing Roberto Soldado. The former Real Madrid youth player repeated his spot kick heroics in the second league fixture, against Swansea City.

AVB will be pleased at the start to the new season but will also know he needs to move on to more convincing displays and wins, particularly if he is to offset the loss of Welsh international Gareth bale; the 24-year-old is close on a massive world record move to the Santiago Bernabeu.

Soldado is one of the bright spots for Spurs fans in these early games. The Spanish international joined from Valencia in a £26m deal and has already scored four times in three games for his new club.

However, the 28-year-old may find himself on the bench for this game. Spurs have a massive weekend task - to face local rivals Arsenal in the first north London derby of the season. A win against Arsene Wenger's men would not only keep Spurs on the tails of early leaders Chelsea but significantly increase pressure on the beleaguered Wenger and drop the Gunners as much seven points behind in the title race already.

Meanwhile, Dinamo have the mixed advantage of a full week's rest ahead of this game... although it will take much more than that to overcome the 5-0 deficit. The Georgians' league game against Spartaki Tskhinvali was postponed.

What the Managers Say

Andre Villas-Boas: "The squad are great professionals and they want to succeed this season and I think the fact that they see these new players arriving and the way they are helping the team always creates a winning mentality that we have to have. Alongside what they bring on the pitch, they also bring outside the pitch with this mentality."

Dusan Uhrin: "Tottenham Hotspur is one of the best teams of not only in England but also in whole Europe. We lost the first leg with the big score-0:5 at home. We had 10-minute interval when we had chance to score a goal but appeared to be unlucky and our rival did its best on counter-attacks."
