All the latest transfer rumours from Tottenham Hotspur. The north London club are ready to move for two Arsenal targets as Harry Redknapp builds his squad for the new season. Redknapp is linked with moves for Blackburn centre half Chris Samba as well as a surprise move for Lazio striker Mauro Zarate. There are also rumours that Tottenham could swap Aaron Lennon for Emmanuel Adebayor and news that Luka Modric will not force a transfer from White Hart lane.

Reports in England have suggested that Manchester City will allow Emanuel Adebayor to join Tottenham if the north London club include England international Aaron Lennon in the deal. Manchester City have been keen admirers of Lennon for a number of years but have yet to make a concrete offer for the winger but now the club are set to use Harry Redknapp's interest in Adebayor to bring Lennon to Manchester. Harry Redknapp is said to be considering the deal as it prevents him selling one of his stars to fund a deal for the Togolese striker but the Spurs manager is reluctant to lose an English player.

The agent of Luka Modric has confirmed that his client will not hand in a transfer request despite reports saying the Croatian international will hand in the request if Tottenham reject another bid from Chelsea.

The BBC understands that the talented midfielder is not willing to burn bridges with the clubs fans and will wait until a deal can be agreed between the two clubs. Chelsea has already had a £22m and £27m bids for the player rejected despite Modric saying he wants to join Chelsea. Tottenham's resolve to keep the player might be fading after assistant manager Kevin Bond told TalkSport on Monday that the club might not be able to turn down a third bid. ""We desperately don't want to lose him, but everyone has a price. If somebody came along and the money turns your head and he did go - although the chairman is adamant he doesn't want to sell him - then we'd have to get on with it," Bond said.

Tottenham are said to be ready to trump Arsenal's pursuit of Chris Samba by offering Blackburn £10m plus one of three players. Harry Redknapp is ready to allow the Lancashire club to take David Bentley, Sebastien Bassong or Robbie Keane in order to sweeten a deal for the defender.

Redknapp is said to be ready to go head to head with Arsenal for the player and Redknapp feels he can't trump his rivals by offering both cash and a player for the defender. Neither side have been willing thus far to part with the £15m Blackburn want for the player but a cash deal is said to be something that interests Blackburn Rovers.

According to the Mirror, Tottenham and Arsenal are ready to go head to head for Argentine striker Mauro Zarate. The former Birmingham striker who has spent the past three seasons at Lazio has fallen out with manager Edy Reja and has now attracted the attention of Harry Redknapp. Redknapp is said to be willing to offer £15m for the striker, a cheaper alternative to Fernando Llorente.
