Who is Dominic Evans? Internet Sleuths Link Him to Nancy Guthrie's Abduction — Here's Why and His Criminal History
Internet sleuths claim Dominic Evans bears a resemblance to the masked man from the footage

84-year-old Nancy Guthrie, the mother of Today show host Savannah Guthrie, has been missing for ten days since she was last seen on 31 January at her residence in the Catalina Foothills. But by Sunday, 1 February, Nancy was reported missing after her family was alerted by a church member that their mother did not attend her usual Sunday service.
The night before her disappearance, Nancy had dinner at her daughter's home, Annie Guthrie, and was later dropped off at her residence at around 9:48pm, which was the last time she was seen.

For the new development about the case, the FBI released photos and videos of a masked man seen on Nancy's Nest camera at her front door.
Following the release, the internet sleuths are also making efforts to identify the masked man seen on the footage. Now, they are also linking Dominic Evans, bandmate of Tommaso Cion, Nancy's son-in-law and husband of her daughter, Annie Guthrie.
Here's everything you need to know about him, his criminal history, and why people are associating him with Nancy's abduction.
Who is Dominic Evans?
Dominic Evans, whose full name is Dominic Aaron Lee Evans, is the bandmate of Tommaso Cioni. The two helped form the band Early Black in 2007, along with guitarist Walter I. Gonçalves Jr. Cioni played bass while Evans served as the band's drummer.
On the band's bio at the ReverbNation's website, they wrote: 'The songs were grungier compared to the band's repertory in its debut, Life:Love :: Love: Murder.'
The band began playing shows locally in Tucson and at times in Phoenix and Flagstaff. They also recorded their debut album in late 2009 to early 2010 at Loveland Studios, with Tucson music engineer Nathan Sabatino.
FBI Director Kash Patel Revealed the Footage
In an X post, FBI Director Kash Patel shared the photos and videos they recovered from the Nest camera of Nancy.

The video was recovered from residual data located in backend systems.'
The FBI director added, 'Working with our partners - as of this morning, law enforcement has uncovered these previously inaccessible new images showing an armed individual appearing to have tampered with the camera at Nancy Guthrie's front door the morning of her disappearance.'
The Footage
In the posted footage, a masked man with only an opening for the eyes and mouth can be seen walking to Nancy's front door. He is wearing a backpack and what looks like a handgun holster.
The footage captures the person attempting to cover the doorbell camera using a gloved hand and a piece of vegetation torn from the yard.

Why Is He Being Linked to Nancy Guthrie's Abduction?
Following the release of the footage, the internet sleuths quickly moved to identify the masked man. X user @XTexasGirlX posted about Evans, claiming he bears a resemblance to the masked man from the footage.
🧵 Let's talk about Dominic Aaron Lee Evans, the longtime friend and former bandmate of Tommaso Cioni (Annie Guthrie's husband, Nancy Guthrie's son-in-law).

The user said, 'Many say bears a striking resemblance to Dominic (eyes, eyebrows, goatee), and his close friendship with the son-in-law giving potential access/knowledge of the home...' and asked, 'Is this just coincidence, or could there be a connection to Nancy's disappearance?'
Meanwhile, the Hindustan Times also reported about an X user named Atom Report who claims that they analyzed the footage and conducted a profiling comparison. The user suggested that the masked man 'could potentially' be Evans echoing the same claim of @XTexasGirlX about the physical resemblance of Evans and the masked man.
Atom Report wrote: 'ANALYSIS: WHO IS THE MASKED MAN? We are tracking reports that the "Subject" in the Nancy Guthrie footage matches the physical profile of Dominic Evans, drummer for the band Early Black. The Connection: Evans is a direct bandmate of Tommaso Cioni. The Match: Evans fits the subject's athletic build, and the visible facial hair (dark mustache and goatee) aligns with his known profile.'
These claims remained as speculations and have not been confirmed by the authorities yet.
His Criminal History
Included in the post of the X users speculating that Evans is potentially the masked man is his alleged criminal history. In the past, Evans was allegedly charged and arrested for felony burglary, robbery, embezzlement, and DUI in Pima County.
They claimed that these are public records; however, as of writing, there are no confirmed documents about these claims regarding Evans.
