Bollywood actor Aamir Khan, who will be co-producing and acting in his upcoming movie Dangal, treated fans to the first look of his muscular avatar for the movie. Khan will be playing the role of an Indian wrestler, Mahaveer Phogat, and judging by the first glimpse of the actor's rugged self, it seems he is leaving no stone unturned to hit perfection.

The 51-year-old actor took to his Twitter account to share the photo of his character, "2 days to go before I shoot for young Mahaveer....@avigowariker," he captioned the image clicked by photographer Avinash Gowariker.

Khan looks all charged up as he debuts his chiselled body in a simple black vest. The black and white image also hints at the adrenaline-pumping role he is about to portray in Dangal. Sporting a tough expression, the actor holds a pair of dumbbells in the image.

Khan is all set to bring to life the various stages of the life of Haryana-born wrestler Phogat in the biopic. As a result, the actor had to go through a session of rigorous training, and considering his passion for perfection, it must have been a tough job losing and gaining weight to portray the different ages of the character accurately on-screen.

Earlier, the PK actor reportedly gained weight – from 68kg to 93kg – in a period of six months to portray the aged version of the wrestler during the first phase of filming.

As the younger Phogat, the superstar's new look garnered him praises from the big guns of Bollywood and his fans alike. Actress and former Miss Universe Lara Dutta took to the micro-blogging site to laud the actor for his efforts, "Been witness to this transformation in gym! :-). Amazing dedication and focus," she wrote.

Dangal helmed by Nitesh Tiwari of Bhootnath Returns' fame also stars TV actors Sakshi Tanwar, Fatima Sana Shaikh and Sanya Malhotra alongside Khan. The film is scheduled to hit theatres on 23 December.
