Alexander Wang Collaborates with Beats by Dr Dre

Fashion icon Alexander Wang has teamed up with hip hop star Dr Dre.

Balenciaga's creative director has designed a limited-edition capsule collection for the rapper's line of headphones and musical accessories, Beats by Dre.

The New York-born designer revealed that he decided to take on the project because of his deep-rooted love affair with the hip-hop community.

"I have always looked to music and musicians for inspiration and as collaborators because there is such a purity to their talent. Different types of music can also transform how you interpret or understand a fashion show, or film. It's creating a story and translating a message," he told Women's Wear Daily.

"For this collaboration with Beats by Dr Dre, it felt right and a natural choice for me to give the Beats Studio headphones, Beats Pill and Urbeats earbuds a clean, minimal look with a luxe sensibility," said Wang.

The three-piece custom line features a pair of headphones, a speaker and a pair of earbuds and each item features Wang's signature gold accents and black finishes.

Fans can expect to fork out £275 for the cans and speaker and £80 for the earbuds.

The range launches on 16 December and will be available through the Beats by Dr Dre website, freestanding stores and the newly redesigned Alexander Wang webshop.
