Where to watch live

The match starts at 6pm BST. Live coverage of the game will be available in the UK on British Eurosport & Eurosport HD. Live scores and regular updates will be available on US Open's official website.

Overview

World number two Andy Murray has been in brilliant form of late, winning the men's singles titles at the Rio 2016 Olympics, the 2016 Wimbledon and comes into this clash on the back of a runner-up spot in the recently concluded 2016 Cincinnati Open, where he lost to Marin Cilic.

Lukas Rosol was touted as a tricky first round opponent, but the Briton made light work of the Czech star. He came through without facing a breakpoint in straight sets 6-3, 6-2, 6-2. Murray is the favourite to lift the winner's trophy at Flushing Meadows based on current form, and Novak Djokovic's fitness worries, which saw him lose a set in his opening round win against Jerzy Janowicz will further give the Briton hope of winning his second US Open title.

Marcel Granollers also came through in straight sets in his opening round win over Juan Monaco, but will face an uphill task against Murray. The duo have faced each other seven times with the world number two winning on six occasions. The only loss came on the clay courts of Barcelona, when Murray had to retire with the scores at 1-set all.
