Arsenal are reportedly set to welcome striker Danny Welbeck back into the first-team fold for their visit to White Hart Lane on Saturday.

According to the Mirror, the England striker has returned to full training after missing the last month with a thigh injury, and will be in the squad that travels to face Tottenham on the weekend.

This will be welcome news to Arsene Wenger, who had earlier revealed that the former Manchester United forward was very close to making his return.

The north London derby is one of the most highly anticipated clashes of the season and three points will be crucial for either team as they battle for a place in the top four.

Arsenal are in a good run of form following the return from injury of Theo Walcott and Mesut Ozil, but their opponents are also finding form with striker Harry Kane leading their charge.

The return of Welbeck will give the manager a further headache when it comes to selecting his best eleven, as the report claims that Alexis Sanchez, who missed the clash against Aston Villa on Sunday through a minor hamstring injury is also set to be available for the game.

Meanwhile, Tottenham defender Federico Fazio believes their weekend's 3-0 win over West Bromwich Albion was much needed for the team's confidence heading into the derby.

"It was a good win at West Brom and we are in a good position in the league," Fazio said, as quoted on Spurs' official site.

"It was a very important three points because the next game is the derby and we wanted to go into that off the back of a win. It was an important result for our confidence and for the team," the former Sevilla defender added.

The Gunners also come into this game on the back of a thumping 5-0 win over Aston Villa on Sunday.
