Serge Aurier

Arsenal target Serge Aurier has been included in the Ligue 1 team of the season by prestigious French newspaper L'Equipe.

With Bacary Sagna expected to leave the Emirates this summer after failing to agree a contract extension, the Toulouse full-back has been earmarked as Arsene Wenger's main summer target to fill the void expected to be left by the French international.

The 21-year-old defender is considered one of the best young right-backs around Europe and is set to play in the World Cup with Ivory Coast after being named in the 28-man provisional squad.

Now L'Equipe has also recognised his merits by including him in the best eleven of the 2013/14 Ligue 1 season alongside international stars such as Zlatan Ibrahimovic and James Rodriguez.

Aurier

Lille goalkeeper Vincent Enyeama is the number one while Aurier slots into the back-line alongside Paris Saint Germain centre-back Alex, Lille's Basa and Monaco left-back Kurzawa.

Thiago Motta, Marco Verrati and Lemoine complete the midfield while Ibrahimovic, Lucas Moura and James Rodgirguez forge the attacking trio.

Aurier himself recently fuelled speculation of his potential move to the Emirates Stadium, claiming that it will be hard to turn down an offer from the Gunners.

"It is certain that I would be a little disappointed to stay in Toulouse, especially after a season like this," Aurier said.

"I would not refuse Arsenal. This is a club that has a history, which has hosted many French-speakers who also have a French coach. Plus Arsenal is always looking for titles and playing in the Champions League."

However, according to reports in France both PSG and Monaco are also ready to battle for his signature.
